Sweetwater County officials all came to an agreement on how to spend a $2.3 million state grant. A majority of the grant money, or approximately $1.9 million will go towards  improvements for the National High School Finals Rodeo. The NHSFR will be held in Sweetwater County in 2012 and 2013.

In a unanimous agreement Sweetwater County officials agreed on devoting $1.9 million to improvements for the National High School Finals Rodeo. Approximately $1.4 million will be allocated to the Sweetwater Events Complex where the rodeo is held. The rest of the funds will be used for general improvements.

This years NHSFR was held in Gillette, WY and saw over 1,500 competitors from 41 states, five Canadian Provinces and even Australia. Approximately 6,000 people attended this years rodeo which is the largest rodeo in the world.
