Martin Luther King, Jr. Days Of Dialogue Schedule Of Events – Day One

Today marks the first day of Martin Luther King, Jr. Days of Dialogue. Day one of events kicks off with four activities.

Here is your day one schedule of events:

- IMMIGRATION TODAY: NO LONGER GIVE ME YOUR TIRED AND YOUR POOR

- MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. RALLY AND MARCH
   5:00 p.m.
   Wyoming Union Skylight Lounge

The MLK, Jr. March is a key tradition for the University of Wyoming and Laramie         community. The march commemorates the historic March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, and the legacy of Dr. King.  Just as the March on Washington was a collaborative effort lead by major civil rights groups and icons of the day, the MLK March is a gathering of community members who march with messages designed to shed light on the political and social issues that challenge our nation today.

- WILLENA STANFORD COMMUNITY SUPPER
   6:00 p.m.
   Wyoming Union Ballroom

The Willena Stanford Community Supper immediately follows the MLK March in the Wyoming Union Ballroom. The event is held in honor of Dr. Willena Stanford, a former UW instructor in African American and Diaspora Studies who had a strong commitment to the equal educational opportunity of all students at UW. Join us to honor UW students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to diversity as we kick off a week focused on recognizing and challenging equity issues in the Equality State and the larger U.S. context.  In addition to the dinner, which is free, the evening’s program will include an awards presentation as well as musical and theatrical performances.
