Man Gets 5 Years in Cheyenne Heroin Bust
A 34-year-old Mexican man has been sentenced to five years in prison for conspiracy to distribute heroin.
Juan Manuel Castillo-Padilla was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal on Monday.
Castillo-Padilla and his co-defendant, Eduardo Aguilar, were pulled over on Interstate 80 east of Cheyenne on Dec. 8 for having expired tags.
The stop led to a search of the vehicle, and 2.5 pounds of heroin were found in the liner of a coat that was on the back seat.
Aguilar, who was sentenced on June 12, also received five years of imprisonment.
