Southern Albany County is currently under a flash flood warning until 3:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne issued the warning, saying that at 12:36 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rains across the area, including the Badger Creek burn scar.

According to the NWS, up to an inch of rain has already fallen and flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

The Badger Creek burn scar, Boswell Creek Campground, Woods Landing, Miller Lake Campgroud, Evans Creek Campground and Jelm will experience flooding.

People in the area should be aware of the possibility of debris flows moving through the Bear Creek basin, including the drainages of Bear, Eagle, Shellrock and Jelm creeks. Debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
