POWELL, Wyo. (AP) — A Powell man accused of giving prescription drugs to another man who overdosed has been charged with criminally negligent homicide.

Police say 28-year-old Adam B. Mangold called for help after Bryson Herdt collapsed in December but repeatedly refused to tell emergency responders what drugs Herdt had been taking.

The Powell Tribune reported an arrest affidavit said Mangold allegedly told police that Herdt came to his house, told him he was going through detox and begged him from some prescription painkillers.

Mangold has also been charged with drug offenses in the case. He is scheduled to enter a plea to the charges on March 19.

Mangold is paralyzed from the waist down and has been released from jail to house arrest after a judge ruled the jail couldn't care for him.
