An Illinois man accused of possession of cocaine, heroin and LSD pleaded not guilty to the charges in Albany County District Court today.

Mark Gall is charged with one count of possession of cocaine, one count of possession of heroin and one count of possession of LSD. If convicted of the charges, he could face up to 15 years in prison and $30,000 in fines.

According to court documents, Gall was arrested on August 14 after a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper pulled Gall over for a traffic violation on Interstate 80 in Albany County. The trooper could smell marijuana in the vehicle and conducted a search of Gall’s car. The trooper found several black bags hidden in clothing in the trunk of the car.

In one bag the trooper found a powder substance that the officer knew through experience to be heroin. It was later determined there was 10 grams of heroin. The other black bag had a white powdery substance which the trooper knew to be cocaine and was later determined to be 5.5 grams of cocaine. The third bag contained suspected LSD, the weight of which was 1.3 grams, court documents state.

According to the affidavit, Gall made told the officer that he did not have anything major and if he could just hand the drugs over to the trooper if the trooper would “be cool” with the situation.

Gall is out on a $10,000 cash bond. His trial is scheduled for April 10 and 11.
