September 12, 2012 — Karen Jo Koonan, an expert on jury selection, will speak as part of the William D. Griffith Series Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 1:20 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Education Building auditorium.

Koonan has consulted on several high profile cases, such as “The State of Colorado v. Kobe Bryant.” A trial consultant with NJP/West since 1987, she has worked on more than 1,500 cases and is widely regarded for her expertise in civil rights, employment, personal injury and criminal defense.

Specializing in mock jury research and in-court assistance with jury selection, Koonan has developed an effective method to prepare witnesses to testify in court. As the past president of the National Lawyers Guild, she was the first non-attorney in the organization’s history to hold this office.

The Griffith Speaker Series is supported by the William D. Griffith Endowment, founded in 1992 by Wyoming native and longtime FBI agent William D. Griffith. The UW Department of Criminal Justice sponsors the event. Visit www.uwyo.edu/cj for more information.
