UNDATED (AP) — LeBron James and Dwyane (dwayn) Wade have combined to average 46 points for the Miami Heat this season. With Wade sitting out Tuesday's game at Cleveland to rest his sore knees, James picked up the slack by scoring 43 points in the Heat's 100-96 win over the Cavaliers.

James contributed 25 points while the Heat outscored the Cavs 37-25 in the first quarter. He also hit six free throws in the final two minutes to help Miami win for just the third time in eight games.

James set a career high and a team record by scoring 61 points against Charlotte on March 3, the last time Wade sat out a game.

Chris Bosh added 21 points for the Heat, who are three games behind the Eastern Conference-leading Indiana Pacers.

NEW YORK (AP) — Phil Jackson says he sees a future for Carmelo Anthony with the New York Knicks. The newly appointed president of the team met with reporters and said he is looking forward to leading the franchise with which he started his NBA career. Jackson played for the Knicks when they won the NBA championship in 1970 and 1973. They haven't won a title since.

After successful stints as the head coach of the Bulls and Lakers, where he won a combined 11 NBA titles, Jackson said he's ready for the challenge of rebuilding the New York team.

The futures of Anthony and coach Mike Woodson have been uncertain this year as the Knicks have floundered for most of the season.
