A Laramie man appeared in Albany County Circuit Court for possession of a controlled substance Thursday. Cameron Williams is charged with felony possession of marijuana.

On March 4, Williams and three people were stopped by the Albany County Sherriff’s Department for improper display of a license plate on highway 287.  Because the driver, Gabriel Anderson, had an active warrant from Albany County, Anderson was arrested and the car was towed.

Prosecutors say that upon inspection of the car, there were three packages of marijuana totaling 3.92 ounces found that belonged to Cameron Williams. Court documents allege that Williams bought the weed in Ft. Collins from a person known only as number 2.

Police officials state in court documents that Williams expressed to authorities that he could smoke all three ounces of marijuana in two days. Cameron Williams’ preliminary hearing is March 13 and has a bond set at $10,000.
