The City of Laramie has postponed its Community Clean Up Day activity originally scheduled for Saturday, April 20th.

In a release from the City Manager's Office, The City says that the clean up day has been moved to the following weekend on April 27th.  Weather and safety concerns are being cited as reasons for the postponement.

The City goes on to say that "to accommodate people that already have plans to visit the landfill on the 20th, the day will remain free."  Free visits can also be made to the landfill on the newly scheduled April 27th clean up day as well.

The Clean Up Day will begin at 8 AM on the 27th and will go until completion, with City Hall on 4th and Ivinson acting as a central meeting place.  Lunch will be provided to volunteers in the alley behind the 4th street Firehouse.  Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves and  dress in appropriate clothing.

This is only the second time the Community Clean Up Day event has had to be postponed in the ten year history of the event.
