UNDATED (AP) — Unranked Kentucky is starting to show why they were the No. 3 team in the AP preseason men's basketball poll.

Kyle Wiltjer scored a career-high 26 points, Archie Goodwin added 24 and Nerlens Noel set a school record with 12 blocks as the Wildcats knocked off 16th-ranked Mississippi 87-74 in Oxford. Kentucky withstood a 16-0 run that allowed Ole Miss to pull within 73-72 with 4:22 remaining. The Wildcats closed on a 14-2 spurt in winning for the fifth time in seven games.

The Rebels ended a nine-game winning streak despite LaDarius White's 22 points.

In other top-25 action, Deshaun Thomas scored 10 of his game-high 25 points during a 15-0 spurt that lifted 11th-ranked Ohio State past Wisconsin 58-49. Thomas hit a 10-footer to trigger the run that put Ohio State ahead by 13 with under six minutes remaining.

Manny Arop scored 17 points and Indiana State ended Wichita State's 19-game home winning streak by beating the 15th-ranked Shockers 68-55. The Sycamores allowed Wichita to shoot just 27 percent in beating a ranked team for the first time in five tries this season.

Joe Harris scored seven of his 22 points during a game-ending 13-6 run that allowed Virginia to beat No. 19 North Carolina State 58-55. Akil Mitchell hit the go-ahead jumper and finished with 14 points in the Cavaliers' fourth straight win.

Rodney Williams dropped in 23 points and No. 23 Minnesota ended a four-game skid by thumping Nebraska 84-65.
