JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — The Jackson Town Council has approved a plan to build a Walgreens in a prominent spot on the town's main street.

The Associated Press reports that councilors unanimously voted to support the proposal on Monday.

The planning commission also signed off on the plan last month despite concerns that the building didn't fit the character of the town. Some opponents said allowing the national pharmacy chain would be an intrusion of "the bland and corporate" into the town.

Developers plan to build a 13,000-square-foot, one-story Walgreens store building on West Broadway and a separate, three-unit employee housing building.
