Laramie Valley Faces Red Flag Fire Warning This Afternoon
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for critical fire danger for the Laramie Valley area today [April 22] from noon until 7 p.m.
The agency defines a Red Flag Warning as follows:
A Red Flag Warning means warm temperatures, very low humidities, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire danger.
Red Flag Warning in effect for the Laramie Valley from noon to 7PM today. Low humidity and westerly wind gusts to 50 mph this afternoon could lead to rapid fire spread. Please avoid outdoor burning today if you're in the Laramie Valley.
Wetter Weather Late Tuesday May Help Dampen The Fire Danger
The fire danger may decrease on Tuesday night, with rain and snow showers in the forecast for the Laramie Valley area. More wet weather is expected through the rest of the workweek.
