Albany County Sheriff Issues Unattended Fire Warning
In light of the high fire danger across the region, the Albany County Sheriff's Office is reminding people not to leave fires unattended.
That's according to a post on the agency's Facebook page.
Deputies recently Found A Fire Burning On BLM Land
According to the post, on September 20 deputies found an unnattended, human started fire on BLM recreational property south of Laramie. According to the post ''Deputies responded swiftly, employing available equipment and collaborating with Albany County Central Volunteer Firefighters to contain and extinguish the fire.''
The post says that if typical Wyoming winds had been blowing, the result could have been "catastrophic."
In the words of the post ''To reiterate, it is crucial to maintain vigilant supervision of fires- NEVER LEAVE A FIRE UNATTENDED.''
It also reminds people that when recreating, it's critical to dispose of trash properly and thoroughly extinguish fires
