Two players from Laramie Girls Softball’s 14U Lightning team are headed to the USSSA All-American games in Florida.

Lightning players Baily Isaak and Bella Pacheco will participate in this select event in Viera, FL July 19-25, 2020. They received an invitation via email in April and are part of the representation from the West Region. Isaak and Pacheco took part in a tryout for the USSSA All American Games in Superior, CO on March 1, 2020.

Players from six regions across the country will have an opportunity to work directly with USSSA Pride players and receive assessments by scouts from all over the nation.

The first two days will feature player evaluations of individual skill and athleticism. Each athlete will showcase their skills in hitting, fielding, throwing, pitching, catching, and athletic testing. Players are being evaluated on their primary and secondary position only. This gives scouts a chance to compare your skillset with those of your age from around the country. The testing is conducted by professional softball players and trained coaches.

After testing, each player is assigned a team in her age division. Every player will participate in a minimum of four games during the Fastpitch All American Games tournament. Each age group, 9U through 14U, will be composed of two All-America teams, a Select team, and an American team. The Select teams will compete in one bracket and the American teams in another.

Isaak and Pacheco have played together in the LGS program since they were on the 8U squad. Their 14U competitive Lightning team just finished in second place at the 2020 Wyoming State Softball Tournament in Laramie. Both girls will be sophomores at Laramie High School this fall.
