Last August marked the first horses races to be held in Wyoming for a number of years. Wyoming Downs in Evanston is now adding to the possibility of a horse racing revival is the state. Ownership of the complex has been handed over to real estate broker Eric Nelson who plans to resume live races in 2013.

Eric Nelson previously owned the track but sold it five years ago. He recently bought back the complex at an auction for $450,000. Besides live racing, rodeo events that customers can wager on will also be held in the complex. Nelson also hopes to open a second track in Cheyenne some time in the future.

In August live races were held at Sweetwater Downs in Rock Springs. Those races along with a push from Nelson may lead to a statewide revival of horse racing. To read more click here!
