The city of Casper was shaken yesterday as a high speed chase occurred within the city. The chase resulted in a horrific accident in which the driver smashed into a power pole, hit a pedestrian and crashed into a building. The 18 year old pedestrian was killed as a result.

Wyoming Highway Patrol say the chase began when a pick up truck traveling at approximately 90-100 mph passed a trooper. Sgt. Stephen Townsend, Patrol Spokesman said the truck crashed before the trooper could catch up.

The truck smashed into a power pole and then ran into the 18 year old pedestrian. The truck finally came to rest after plowing into the Goodstein Building.

The scene was chaotic and ended with many people inside the building fleeing the scene while officers entered with guns drawn. The 38 year old man was arrested inside the building. The names of the man responsible as well as the 18 year old victim have not been released.
