Wednesday, May 8th the Wyoming Army National Guard 2nd Battalion, 300th Field Artillery will be deployed to the Middle East, according to Wyoming News Now.

There is no word yet as to what their exact mission will be but, they are being deployed to perform military missions as part of forces assigned to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. After they leave Cheyenne their first stop will be Fort Bliss, Texas for more mobilization training.

The soldiers that are serving in this mission are from surrounding states and towns. States: Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington. Towns of Wyoming: Buffalo, Casper, Cheyenne, Douglas, Dubois, Evansville, Gillette, Glenrock, Greybull, Kelly, Lander, Laramie, Lovell, Manderson, Moorcroft, Pavillion, Powell, Riverton, Sheridan, Shoshoni, Sundance, Thermopolis, Torrington, and Worland.

This is the sixth time that unit members have been deployed since September 11, 2001,

The send-off will take place at Natrona County High School auditorium in Casper, Wyoming at 4:30 pm. The ceremony is open to the public and free to attend.
