The Army Guard Opens a Storefront Recruiting Office in Laramie

LARAMIE – The distinction of having the first Army National Guard recruiting office in the state of Wyoming goes to Laramie.

Come and meet your local Wyoming Army National Guard Recruiters from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, as the Wyoming Army National Guard and the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance host a ribbon cutting and open house at its first storefront recruiting office located at the University of Wyoming Plaza, 2523B Grand Avenue in Laramie.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 4:30 p.m. and appetizers will be served.

As a historical footnote, the Wyoming Army National Guard’s first unit, Company A, 1^st Wyoming Regiment, was established in 1888, in Laramie.

Under the 94^th Troop Command, Laramie and Rock Springs are now the home of the 133^rd Engineer Company. The 133^rd built Lake Wyoming, a W-shaped reservoir in Iraq, while deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005.
