Three time state champion wrestler Payton Tucker of Green River will be staying close to home as he'll compete for Western Wyoming College in Rock Springs. Tucker ended his prep career with a state championship in the 4A 182 pound bracket with a 9-0 decision over Vince Genatone of Natrona. Tucker finished the season with a record of 35-2.

He was also the 2019 state champion at 182 and went 36-4. Tucker defeated Dayton Porter of Thunder Basin to win the 4A title. As a sophomore in 2018, he won his first state championship, also in the 4A 182 pound bracket with a 6-5 win over Gunnar Bartlett of Cheyenne East. Tucker has an unbelievable season with a record of 42-1. He did take 3rd place at the 2017 state tournament at 170 pounds with a mark of 26-20.

Tucker was also an all-state football player the Wolves at the linebacker spot with a whopping 146 tackles, 40 of them unassisted. He recovered 3 fumbles and also had an an interception. As a junior, Tucker was in on 57 tackles with 7 tackles for loss.
