Fred Wahl was the founder of Wyoming's first airlines and was just the second person to receive a Wyoming issued pilot's license. Wahl is the 2011 inductee to the Wyoming Aviation Hall of Fame.The Wyoming Aeronautics Commission chose Wahl as the 2011 inductee. He will be added to the hall during a ceremony this Friday, October 28th at the Cheyenne Regional Airport. Wahl passed away in 1995 at the age of 90 and had served much of his life in aviation. He founded Laramie Airways in 1929 which was later incorporated as Mountain Airways. He also piloted C-47 cargo planes during World War II. After the war he returned to commercial flying  as a pilot for Inland Airlines. Wahl pursued his passion of flying up to the age of 85.
