
Extreme Blow-Over Risk, 80 MPH Winds Expected In SE Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning of high winds and an extreme blow-over risk in southeast Wyoming Wednesday and into Thursday.
The service issued this statement on its website:
High Wind Warnings have been issued for much of southeastern Wyoming from midnight Wednesday to 6 am Thursday. Extremely strong winds are expected to impact I-25 and I-80. West winds sustained at 35 to 50 mph with gusts of 70 to 80 mph are likely. An extreme blow-over risk is in place for light and high profile vehicles along I-25 and I-80. Drivers use extreme caution as high winds could cause blow-overs and accidents. Plan for alternative routes and closures. Expect strong wind gusts to continue through 6 am Thursday Morning. Travel impacts will be very high! Stay Weather Aware!
