Ethics Discussion at University of Wyoming
On Thursday, The University of Wyoming is participating in a series of public ethics discussions along with 10 other universities.
In Room 123 of the College of Business Building on Sept. 17, Kelly Richmond Pope will discuss her documentary “All the Queen’s Horses,” from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Video clips will be used to educate the public about corruption and to spur public discussion. A question-and-answer session will follow the discussion, and the event will conclude with a networking reception.
“All the Queen’s Horses” revolves around a former elected official from Dixon, Ill. As city comptroller, Rita Crundwell embezzled $53 million dollars over the course of 20 years before she was finally arrested.
In order to educate the public about the importance of ethical decision making and white-collar crime in society, the Center for Public Trust has collaborated with the Daniels Fund and Pope in sponsoring the discussions.
Wyoming certified public accountants can acquire 1.5 continuing education credits by attending. Universities in Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico are hosting similar events.
