The Cowgirl Basketball team will take on Mountain West Conference foe New Mexico in Albuquerque at 12 p.m. Saturday.  Coverage begins on KOWB at 11:30 a.m.

Two Wyoming natives are leading the Cowgirls this year.  Senior Hillary Carlson from Cheyenne is averaging 18.3 points and 7.7 rebounds while senior Aubrey Vandiver from Laramie averages 17.2 points and 9.9 rebounds.

The Cowgirls are coming off their conference opener in which they dominated Colorado State 83-43 to bring their overall record to 10-3 and their conference record to 1-0.  The Cowgirls are shooting .427 from the field, .365 from 3-point range and 73.2 percent from the charity stripe.

This will be the Cowgirls first conference road game and the conference opener for the Lobos who are 6-6 overall.

New Mexico is led by Lauren Taylor who averages 10.6 points plus 2.5 rebounds and Porche Terrance who averages 9.5 points and 7.2 rebounds.  The Lobos return three starters and ten letterwinners from a team which went 19-13 overall and 9-7 in the MWC last year.

The last time Wyoming and New Mexico met was last year on Feb. 17, when the Cowgirls defeated the Lobos, 78-55, in Laramie.
