Two of the three Wyoming team ropers are in the top 11 after the first round of slack at the 2014 College National Finals Rodeo in Casper.

Brit Ellerman and his partner stopped the clock in 7.1, which is good for ninth place in the first round. Clayton Van Aken and his partner were only a touch slower at 7.6 seconds. They sit in 11th place.

The third Wyoming Cowboy team roper, Kade Merritt and his partner recorded a no time in the first round.

That was also the same fate for Van Aken in the tie down roping.

All is not lost, as it is still possible to make the finals with only two-head roped.

All four Wyoming Cowboys, Ellerman, Merritt, Van Aken and bareback rider Wyatt Clark will compete in their second round during slack on Tuesday. Ellerman will have his third round run in team roping during the first of the primetime performances at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

All the action of the 2014 CNFR is at the Casper Events Center.
