Last week it was announced that Cheyenne will host the Wyoming Senior Olympics for the first time since 2012.

The brand new trailer is on display in the Depot.  The city of Cheyenne and Visit Cheyenne have been working together to make sure this event goes off without a hitch.  If these groups can pull this event off, it will make Cheyenne a future destination for bigger events like this.  The Wyoming Senior Olympics will bring in athletes from 23 other states.

As spectators, we can expect to see 18 different sports and 200 events.  Cheyenne will also host the Olympics in 2020 and those events will qualify you for the National Senior Olympics.

“I was bored one day and decided to get on the internet and see what I could do over the weekend. I signed up right then. Told my wife that I was going to Sheridan for the Wyoming Senior Olympics. I had the best time of my life…literally best time of my life.” said Skip who told ShortGo.

The Wyoming Senior Olympics will take place August 8th through the 10th.
