From the grocery store to the gas pump, inflation and continued supply chain woes are impacting us all, and the Cheyenne Police Department is no exception.

Mayor Patrick Collins says getting things like ammunition and other supplies is getting harder and more expensive.

"With the growth of the city, business is getting busier in police speak," Collins said Friday in his Mayor's Minute column.

"Getting them the needed help both on the street and in the back office is the biggest ask," added Collins, who spent the week meeting with every city department to go over their budget requests for the next fiscal year.

The police department, which has 110 officers, has welcomed seven new officers to its ranks so far this year.
