LARAMIE -- Four individuals were crowned at the annual Stars of Tomorrow youth talent competition, hosted by the Laramie Kiwanis Club on Saturday, March 30th.

“This event showcases the amazingly talented youth we have in Albany County,” said Sarah Chapman, co-chair of the Stars of Tomorrow committee for the club.

“We are proud to offer this opportunity for students to perform, and to our community to enjoy the show. It’s a highlight for our Club each and every year.”

Stars of Tomorrow is an annual talent show hosted by the club to showcase the area youth’s skills in performing arts, including singing, dancing, instrumental performance and more. It was hosted in the Laramie High School Theater.

In this year’s edition, there were 19 acts and 22 total competitors. Participants ranged in age from 7 through 17, and divisions include lower- and upper-elementary, middle school and high school.

The Laramie Kiwanis Club presented a $1,000 scholarship to the performer with the most points in grades 11-12, which was awarded to Addie Steinke, while Jazmyn Aguiñaga was named the 2019 Stars of Tomorrow’s Best in Show.

Kiwanis International focuses on changing the world by serving children, one child, and one community at a time. The annual Stars of Tomorrow show is Laramie Kiwanis’ signature event.  Laramie Kiwanis also hosts an Easter Egg Hunt and Special Needs Holiday Party annually while supporting other Laramie projects such as the Suicide Prevention Hotline, the annual Freedom Has a Birthday and Jubilee Days celebrations, and many food and item drives throughout the year.
