Two more retail liquor licenses are available to the City of Laramie and interested parties have started to make their case. Laramie received the licenses because of its increased population in the 2010 census. The city council could award the licenses to any of the eight parties who expressed interest during Tuesday's work session.

A new website will launch for the City of Laramie on Friday morning. Information Technology manager, Jonathan Rhoades, says the general layout will make it easier to find information, which was a common complaint with the old website.

The unofficial results from the Nov. 8th Special Election show the second option on the ballot to have been the most popular. According to Albany County Clerk, Jackie Gonzalez, 772 of the 1776 ballots cast were in favor of Laramie switching to three wards with three city councilmen being elected from each ward.

It's official, The Laramie Police Department will be hiring two more officers.  The hiring of two officers was voted on by the Laramie City Council. According to Laramie Police Chief Dale Stalder the department currently has 49 officers. Adding two more will put Laramie at the FBI's mountain states recommended staffing level.

Putting your dog on a leash and licensing your cat will now be required as revisions to Laramie Municipal Code Title 6, dealing with "Animals", which were approved in a 7-to-1 vote on third and final reading Tuesday night at the regular meeting of the Laramie City Council. Councilor Joe Vitale voted against the changes to the ordinance, Councilor Klaus Hanson was absent.

Changes to city animal laws were approved on second reading by the Laramie City Council Tuesday night in a seven-to-one vote. Thirteen amendments were passed to push the overhaul of Title 6 of Laramie Municipal Code, Animals, to a third and final reading. Starting at 6:30pm the Laramie City Council will vote on 17 amendments to the proposed overhaul of the city's leash law and other animal laws. Amendments include both minor and major changes and will be voted on individually.
