A new website will launch for the City of Laramie on Friday morning. Information Technology manager, Jonathan Rhoades, says the general layout will make it easier to find information, which was a common complaint with the old website.

There will be some new features on the redesigned website.  The "report a concern" tool will serve as a way for citizens to notify the city  of issues. Another new feature, the "notify me" tool will allow people to sign up for email and text message alerts for new calendar events, job postings and other similar items. Rhoades also added that the new website will be easier for the city to manage on the backend.

The flip will occur at 8 a.m. on Friday, but Rhoades says the old site may still appear for some people until later in the day as the launch is completed.

CivicPlus, a company from Manhattan, Kansas, redesigned the site and will provide maintenance, support and hosting services. Their $50,000 proposal was approved by the Laramie City Council in April. CivicPlus also worked with the City of Green River on their municipal website.

The address for the City of Laramie's website remains the same, www.cityoflaramie.org.
