Travelers on Wyoming roads are asked to be careful while driving today as extremely high winds are forecast for today. Southeastern Wyoming will once again continue to see very strong winds today that could hamper highway and interstate travel. Besides partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures a high wind warning is also in effect until 6pm this evening.

The Southeastern part of the state will definitely experience it's fair share of very strong winds today. Wind gusts of up to 70mph are forecast for today in several areas of the state. High and low profile vehicles are asked to use caution while traveling as some gusts could blow over vehicles.

As of now an advisory has been posted that no light trailer travel is allowed at these locations:

  • Arlington - I-80 between Arlington and Exit 279, Cooper Cove Rd
  • Arlington - I-80 between Exit 267, Wagonhound Rd and Arlington
  • Casper - WY 258 between Mills and Evansville
  • Cheyenne - I-25 between the Colorado State Line and Cheyenne
  • Cheyenne - US 85 between Cheyenne and Meriden
  • Chugwater - I-25 between Chugwater and Exit 73, WY 34
  • Cody - US 212 between Mile Marker 4.5, Westbound Closure Gate and WY 296
  • Cody - WY 296 between US 212 and WY 120
  • Elk Mountain - I-80 between Exit 255, WY 72 and Exit 267, Wagonhound Rd
  • Elk Mountain - I-80 between Exit 235, Walcott Jct and Exit 255, WY 72
  • Farson - WY 28 between Farson and the Fremont/Sublette Cty Line
  • Laramie - I-80 between Exit 279, Cooper Cove Rd and Laramie
  • South Pass - WY 28 between Atlantic City Rd and Mile Marker 63, Westbound Closure Gate
  • South Pass - WY 28 between Mile Marker 63, Westbound Closure Gate and US 287 / WY 789
  • South Pass - WY 28 between the Fremont/Sublette Cty Line and Atlantic City Rd
  • Torrington - US 85 between WY 151, Bear Mountain Station and Torrington
  • Wheatland - I-25 between Exit 73, WY 34 and Wheatland
