Larry Shyatt's second tenure as the head coach of the University of Wyoming men's basketball team will launch with A Night of Madness at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, in the Arena-Auditorium.

More than just a kickoff for Cowboy basketball, the night will include the Homecoming Sing, introduction of players by Dick Vitale, special guest appearances by Jeff Van Gundy and Joakim Noah, UW football, volleyball and Cowgirl basketball players, the Western Thunder Marching Band, the UW Spirit Squad and Pistol Pete. Friday Night Fever will close the night with hypnotist Chris Jones.

Coach Shyatt joined David Settle and Steve Kiggins on Sportsline Live Tuesday to talk about the big event this Friday as well as what he's excited to see from his team. Listen to the full interview below.

I'm looking forward to Friday night for a lot of reasons. I did not want this to be a basketball only night for the Cowboys, I wanted the Cowgirls to be involved, I wanted our volleyball team and Coach Christensen. Hopefully, we're gonna do a lot of good things and  have some fun. Thank goodness it'll be 74 degrees in the Double-A, no matter what it's like outside. We're gonna have some fun.

We really need to get our students out. We start the night with the skits that our sororities and fraternities put together, called the SING, and they'll be there from 7:30 to about 8:45 performing. Then our night will begin, first honoring Janet (Constantinides) and her family and then on to honoring these teams. I've got a dear friend of mine, Jeff Van Gundy, he's going to emcee our portion of the evening. Dick Vitale was kind enough to do all the video intros and last but not least, my wacky friend, Joakim Noah is going to fly in.
