The following press release from the Laramie Police Department is in regards to a Cheyenne man who was arrested in Laramie after an incident that occurred on January 31st.

A Cheyenne man was arrested on 01/31/11 at 2:50 PM for charges stemming from an incident in the 500 block of S. 10th St. The man was discovered by the homeowner inside her residence and fled upon being confronted. The suspect was stopped by Laramie Police Officers in his vehicle a few blocks away from the residence. The man is being held on a $100,000 bond at 5% cash for numerous charges including Attempted 1st Degree Sexual Assault and Burglary.

He is also being charged with Larceny in an unrelated incident earlier in the same day. The man was bound over to 2nd Judicial District Court after a preliminary hearing held on February 22, 2011.

1st Degree sexual assault is a felony punishable by imprisonment of not less than five years, nor more than fifty years. Burglary is a felony punishable by imprisonment of not more than ten years, a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars or both.
