The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle rollover which resulted in the death of Matthew J. Lorenz on Friday, May 13. Sgt. Stephen Townsend says Lorenz was in a vehicle being driven by Carla A. Young and alcohol use is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash.

Officials say Young and Lorenz were in a Toyota 4-Runner headed eastbound on WYO 210 8 miles west of Cheyenne when for reasons unknown the vehicle was steered sharply to the right and off the roadway causing it to roll 2 1/4 times before coming to rest on the driver's side. Young was totally ejected from the vehicle while Lorenz was partially ejected and pinned under the vehicle. Neither was wearing a seat belt.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says it will turn all information over to the Laramie County District Attorney's Office upon completion of the crash investigation and they will determine if any criminal charges will be filed against Young.
