'Celebrity Apprentice' host Donald Trump announced Monday that, despite previous intentions, he will not be running for President in 2012.

Earlier this month, Trump backed out of driving the pace car for the Indianapolis 500, telling officials it would conflict with his presidential campaign. This is just one more race he's taken himself out of.

"I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election," Trump said in a statement, according to ABC News. "I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector."

The report adds that Trump, who made headlines recently for questioning President Barack Obama's citizenship, had set a tentative date for his campaign announcement (May 25).

Well, so much for that.
