Zane Williams to Play Cowboy Saloon and Dance Hall

Country artist Zane Williams will be playing at Laramie's Cowboy Saloon and Dance Hall on Saturday, February 25. There will also be a free meet and greet at Martindale's Western Store starting at 4 p.m.

Born in Abilene, Texas, Williams moved around with his family in his childhood, eventually settling in California. Although he sang in church and wrote songs in his childhood, it wasn't until his teenage years that Williams first became interested in country music. After breaking up with his first girlfriend, he heard Garth Brooks' "The Dance" on a local radio station. Williams said "that song wrecked me; it cut through me like no other song had."

Williams then started writing his own songs on a secondhand guitar given to him by his parents. After completing his college education, Williams moved to Nashville in 1999 to pursue a career in country music. His first album, Hurry Home, was released in 2006.

Williams has since released five more albums. His most recent album, Bringin' Country Back, was released in October 2016. Of his latest album, William says that "I wanted to create a laid-back, old-school country album that folks could listen to with the sun going down."

Doors will open for the show at 8 p.m. The event will start with an opening act at 9 p.m., and Williams will start his show at 10:30 p.m.
