Wyoming Troopers Out in Force for Holidays
For many of us, the Holidays are a special time to be together with family, enjoy some time off of work and enjoy gifts from loved ones.
Though we each celebrate our own unique traditions, one thing we all share is a large amount of travelling during the holidays. Whether it's a long drive to see family, a quick trip to the store for some last-minute gifts, or just a drive to get out of the house, the holiday season is one of the busiest travel seasons in the year.
In lieu of this trend, Wyoming Highway Patrol wants to remind you to be careful, especially during the Christmas Holiday weekend. Beginning the afternoon of Friday, December 23rd and going through midnight on Monday, December 26th, Wyoming State Troopers will be making every effort to prevent accidents, injuries and fatalities on Wyoming roadways. Troopers will also maintain their focus on speeding and impaired driving violation enforcement while offering assistance to motorists.
Along with the troopers, Highway Patrol Dispatchers will be answering calls and dispatching Troopers and other law enforcement agencies throughout the weekend. The Wyoming Highway Patrol Dispatch center in Cheyenne is in operation 24 hours per day, every day of the year.
For road and weather conditions as well as road closures and advisories, motorists are reminded to call "511" while traveling in Wyoming. From outside of the state, Wyoming road information can be gathered by calling 1-888-WYO-ROAD. No matter where you are, access to road reports are available by clicking here.
If you suspect a drunk driver, Wyoming Highway Patrol reminds you to call 1-800-442-9090 or dial "#HELP" which immediately connects you with a Wyoming Highway Patrol dispatcher.
