The Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls are into the post-season. The 2015 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships are underway in San Diego, CA.

The Cowboys are competing against six other teams, while the Cowgirls face 10 other squads at the SDSU Sports Deck.

At last year’s championships in Laramie, the Wyoming women came in fourth, while the men were fifth in the team standings. The Cowboys and Cowgirls combined for seven titles, which are the most in program history at any conference meet.

UW has two individual champions returning. Back are senior Kyle Sullivan and Garrett Zans. Sullivan won the decathlon a year ago, while Zans topped the field in the steeplechase.

How does this year stack up for the Cowboys and Cowgirls?

We visited with Wyoming head track coach Bryan Berryhill on Tuesday during ‘Laramie Live on KOWB.’ Coach Berryhill and host David Settle broke down the squads going into the championships; how the rest of the Mountain West looks; individual chances at titles; plus their 2015 recruiting class and more.

Action began Wednesday with the women’s heptathlon and men’s decathlon. The bulk of the action will take place Friday and Saturday in San Diego.
