CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Supreme Court says a district judge was correct in refusing to reduce the prison sentence of a man convicted of sexually assaulting a Cheyenne girl.

The court on Tuesday rejected an appeal by Donald J. Boucher. He was convicted of six counts of sexual assault on a minor in 2009 and sentenced to serve 30 to 60 years in prison.

Boucher had claimed that a judge should have granted his request to reduce his prison sentence on the grounds that he was rehabilitating himself and also because he was going blind and needed medical treatment outside of prison.

Prosecutors say Boucher sexually abused girl who was about 9 years old in 1999 and 2000. He disappeared for years but was found in Arizona in 2008.
