CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming's snowpack is off to a good start in most areas of the state.

Lee Hackleman of the Natural Resources Conservation Service says early October snowstorms will be beneficial to next spring's runoff.

The agency says the statewide snowpack is more than 200 percent of median for this time of year.

River basins that have received the most snow so far are the Bighorn, Laramie, Powder, Tongue and Little Snake.

On the other end of the scale, the Lower Green in southwest Wyoming and the Madison in Yellowstone National Park have seen the least amount of snow so far.
