Wyoming Man Wins $133k At The World Series of Poker
Richard Dixon was playing with the house money in Las Vegas last week. First, the Wyoming native won his $10,000 seat at the World Series of Poker Main Event from legendary poker pro Daniel Negreanu, then he won over $100,000.
After doubling his chip stack on day one of the Main Event, Dixon's luck appreared to run out when he was elimated late in the second round. The next day, he entered another event, the World Series No-Limit "Little For the Drop".
Dixon was one of 4,391 players in the field, making it all the way to final table and finishing in fifth place. He turned his $1,000 entry into $133,868.
It's the second time Dixon has finished in the money at the World Series. Last year, he won $2,249 in the No-Limit Monster Stack.
His latest finish is the largest pay day for the Cheyenne real estate agent since he began playing professionally. In just over three years, Dixon's career tournament winnings are now over $500,000.
