Southeast Wyoming will get to put in its two cents on this year's legislative redistricting on June 28. The Wyoming Legislature's Joint Corporations Committee will host two opportunities for residents to provide public comment on the proposed redistricting plans.

Anthony Sara, from the Legislative Service Office says the committee will be in Laramie from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the War Room at the Rochelle Athletic Center. Then the committee will head to Cheyenne for an evening session from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Laramie County Library.

"These meetings will allow the public to comment and ask questions about the redistricting plans."

In May, a web page was launched on the Wyoming Legislature website which is dedicated to the redistricting. It includes a Powerpoint Presentation, maps, tables, and answers to generic questions about the redistricting process.

The Wyoming Constitution requires the Legislature to redraw state legislative districts every ten years to reflect population drifts gathered from the U.S. Census. A release from the Legislature says the plan will be finalized during the 2012 budget session, which begins in February.
