According to economists Wyoming's median age is declining in age. Wyoming's energy boom has sparked an interest in younger workers. The national economy has been struggling for many years but Wyoming has done well for itself by plugging into it's available natural energy resources.

According to economists the attraction of younger workers has caused Wyoming to be the only state with a declining median age. The trend has been declining for several years.

Latest numbers released from the U.S. Census Bureau show the median age on Wyoming's residents has dipped below the median age of people nationwide. The state's 2010 census median age was 36.8, compared to 37 nationwide.

Wyoming's median age was even younger in 2000 at 36.2. Estimates show State median age has been declining since 2005.
