CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A member of the Wyoming Army National Guard has died while serving in Afghanistan.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reported Tuesday that 27-year-old Chief Warrant Officer 3 Andrew McAdams was killed when an MC-12 reconnaissance aircraft crashed in Afghanistan during a nighttime mission Friday. Wyoming Military Department spokeswoman Deidre Forster told the newspaper that McAdams was one of three Americans on board but said that details of the crash would be released by the Defense Department.

McAdams is the sixth Wyoming Army National Guard soldier to die in service since the Sept. 11 attacks.

He is a 2004 graduate of Cheyenne's East High School.
