Wyoming Football Announces Future Series
With the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on the horizon, the Wyoming Cowboys and Central Michigan Chippewas agreed to play a future home-and-home series.
The first meeting will take place on Sept. 19, 2026 in Mount Pleasant, MI. The return date in Laramie will be Sept. 4, 2027.
Next Friday’s bowl game will be the third meeting between the two schools. Wyoming won the first ever meeting Sept. 16, 2000, 31-10. The Chippewas won the second at home Sept. 7, 2002, 32-20.
The announcement came Wednesday, although the series was being negotiated before the two schools were selected to play each other in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Dec. 22.
This series comes on the heels of last Thursday’s release of a home-and-home with the North Texas Mean Green from Conference USA.
That features a trip for UW to Denton, TX Sept. 30, 2023, while the Mean Green will trek north to Laramie for a game on Sept. 5, 2026. The two schools have never played each other in football.
Here’s a look at the Cowboys future non-conference football games. These are all tentative and subject to change. Home games are listed in capital letters and are bold:
