The University of Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team is ready for action this weekend against New Mexico and TCU after receiving its first ever ranking in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Pacific Region Poll. The Cowgirls (8-4-2, 1-0) are ranked No. 10 in the current poll.

Head Coach Danny Sanchez was on Sportsline Live Tuesday to discuss the poll, where Cowgirl soccer is headed, and how the young team has been able to find maturity. Listen to the full interview below.

It shows that we've had a good little run and a good start to the season. It shows we've been recognized by some of the coaches in the region. As you all know, at the end of the day it doesn't really mean anything, but I'm not going to lie to you and say it doesn't mean anything at all because it's never happened before. So it's a good little start and we hope that some day it won't be that big of a deal, but right now the girls are pretty proud of it and it's something to build momentum off of.
