The Wyoming Air National has begun construction of a new C-130 Flight Simulator Facility located in Cheyenne on the north side of the Cheyenne Regional Airport.

The $5.1 million building is funded through the Air National Guard Military Construction Program in fiscal year 2013. The building should be completed by next July,

In a news release, Col. Michael Taheri,  153rd Airlift Wing commander, said the simulation center will allow the guard "to train C-130 crew members on every aspect of flight, from pre-flight procedures to emergency landing techniques."

The simulation center is a regional facility that will service C-130 aircrew from the region. The facility will house a computerized training area and will also utilize the C-130 fuselage trainer that has been at the base since 2013.
