Wright Man Dead Following Crash in Northeast Wyoming
A 48-year-old man was killed Wednesday after a pickup truck crossed the centerline and hit his vehicle on Highway 59 north of Wright.
Joseph Lee Bailly was driving a Chevrolet PT Cruiser northbound when a Chevrolet 2500 entered the northbound lane and hit Bailly's vehicle. The crash occurred just after the four-lane road merged into two lanes, south of Bishop Road, according to Campbell County Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds.
Campbell County Coroner Paul Wallem confirmed Bailly's name to K2 Radio News on Thursday.
After Bailly's vehicle was hit by the Chevy, a semi-truck that was trying to avoid the crash ended up hitting the Chevy. The semi-truck then went into a ditch on the east side of the highway.
Reynolds said Highway 59 was closed between Wright and Gillette in order to keep other traffic off of the roadway.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol responded and investigated the death, Reynolds said. Patrol Sgt. Jeremy Beck told K2 Radio News that he would be compiling and releasing details of the crash, and this story will be updated when that information is made public.
