Wolfpack Proves Too Much For the Cowboys [VIDEOS]
Marcus Marshall scored 22 of his game-high 32 points in the second half to lead Nevada to an 89-74 victory over Wyoming Saturday in Laramie.
All five Wolfpack starters scored in double figures led by Marshall. Cameron Oliver added 13 points and 16 rebounds, while Jordan Caroline contributed 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Nevada (14-3, 4-1) answered a run by the Cowboys midway through the second half to take control. An 11-0 spurt by Wyoming tied the game at 45. The Wolfpack responded with a 12-2 surge that made it 57-47, and the Cowboys never mounted a serious challenge the rest of the game.
Wyoming (12-6, 2-3) lost its first home game of the season. The Pokes had four players in double figures led by Alexander Aka Gorski, who tied his career-high with 20 points. Hayden Dalton had 13 points, Alan Herndon added 12 and Justin James 11. UW shot just under 33 percent from the field.
Nevada shot 40.6 percent and went 31-of-37, 84 percent, at the foul line.
The Cowboys will play their next two games on the road. First up is a visit to San Jose State on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m.
