After their first 3-0 start in eight years, the Wyoming Cowboys go back on the road for the second time at Tulsa Saturday afternoon.

This will be the Pokes’ first meeting with the Golden Hurricane since 1998. It will be the sixth overall in the series between UW and Tulsa.

Wyoming is coming off a 21-16 victory last Saturday over Idaho. The Golden Hurricane lost to Oklahoma State, 40-21, last Saturday. They are 1-2 on the season.

Cowboys’ head coach Craig Bohl held his weekly press conference and reviewed the close game against Idaho in the video above. He was very thankful for the crowd last Saturday. Bohl discussed the issues with Wyoming’s passing game and how they’re trying to address them this week, plus their slow starts, and more. He also previewed Tulsa, a place he spent two years as an assistant coach.

Bohl didn’t talk too much about injuries, but bad news came Tuesday. According to reports, sophomore cornerback C.J. Coldon and redshirt freshman Leevi Lafaele have been lost for the season due to injuries to a lower extremity. The Cowboys did receive a bit of good news with the return of senior cornerback Antonio Hull. Bohl said he’s been back in California dealing with a “personal matter” that is not related to the team. Hull came back Monday night and was at practice Tuesday and Wednesday. It’s a “game-time” decision on whether Hull starts Saturday or not.

UW’s last trip to Tulsa wasn’t a good one. The Pokes lost 35-0 to end the 1998 season.

Wyoming will be looking for their first 4-0 start since the 1996 season.

Kick-off Saturday is at 1:30 p.m., Mountain Time. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network. You can also listen to it on KOWB (AM 1290) in Laramie or through the KOWB app. It’s available in Casper on KTWO (AM 1030) or through the K2Radio app.
